#ExpertLast NYC Forever Fuschia....Perfect for Spring!

I am typically the kind of gal that wears lip balms and so on these days simply because I do not like the heavy feeling of lipstick or that it dries out my lips, but I have to give a double kudos to #ExpertLast NYC for this product which I received in the “Forever Fuschia” as a complimentary product to test courtesy of #Influenster!

It is a beautiful color and I wore it for about 6 hours without the color fading or drying out my lips. It is a bonus that it is budget friendly for anyone too!

Tax Season: A Little Common Sense …Please!

, , , , , , , ,

So, yes, yes … and YES. I have been busy, lazy, and maybe even hiding a bit! I could not sleep and this is what popped into my head! (Okay, so maybe work has been a bit crazy?!)

Now just when everyone is settling down from the rigor of a glorious Holiday season and quickly shuffling loved ones back to whatever realm they crawled out of…Then, BAM! Tax season is here!!!

If you are like me and work in the retail banking industry then you are probably already wishing we could press fast-forward to after April 15th!

For the rest of the world there is just a couple of categories you fall into:

A. You are the one who runs out and files your taxes in a nanosecond just to spend it in half that time because it was simply burning a hole in your pocket.

B. You are the dreaded procrastinator who is going to wait till the last-minute to get your ducks straight simply because you are lazy or avoiding the inevitable?

Common Sense when calling your bank (or any customer service really):

  • DO NOT wait till last-minute to all of a sudden need copies of your statements or checks from the last however many years and then call your bank screaming when they are not immediately available.
  • DO check online for your institution as most let you order archived statements online and it is typically quicker or just as quick to do via the web. Welcome to a tech savvy world folks!
  • REMEMBER to check if you should be receiving important tax documents from your financial institution such as for interest earned/paid on accounts, miscellaneous income from taxable promotions from rewards, etc., and so on.
  • It is okay to ask questions if you are not sure why you received a tax document, BUT your bank is not a tax consultant and cannot offer you specific advice on how to file. You are on your own for that one to find help!
  • Be Courteous and remember the person on the other end of the phone is a human being, working and paying bills at the end of the day just like you! (Screaming, Profanity, and any other uncivilized gestures are not going to get you what you need unless you are aiming for high-blood pressure or a migraine.)

*Disclaimer: This post in no way represents any particular institution nor am I giving any specific tax advice. This is just my insomnia-induced ramblings. 🙂

Which side of the line do you fall on?

I couldn’t sleep so here is my random thoughts for the wee hour! Here is a random word bank; you can choose to be on top and think positive or you can let yourself fall below and be lost to negative emotions. Ask yourself-Does being negative really benefit me in anyway? NO, it doesn’t. So change your mindset and learn a new positive word!! …Which sounds better to you? hmph!?

Whole, Believe, Faith, Joy, Love, Embrace, Fulfilled, One, Union, Fixed, Inclusive, Unabridged, brimming, filled, abounding, abundant, adequate, awash, big, bounteous, brimful, burdened, bursting, chock-full, competent, complete, crammed, crowded, entire, extravagant, imbued, intact, laden, lavish, loaded, overflowing, padded, plenteous, plentiful, profuse, replete, running over, sated, satiated, satisfied, saturated, stocked, stuffed, sufficient, voluminous, …

Divided, Tears, Sad, broken, disengaged, Disruptive, rude, obnoxious, Incomplete, Segmented,  busted, collapsed, cracked, crippled, crumbled, crushed, damaged, defective, demolished, disintegrated, dismembered, fractured , fragmentary, fragmented, hurt, in pieces, injured, mangled, mutilated, pulverized, rent, riven, ruptured, separated, severed, shattered, shivered, shredded, slivered, smashed, split…..

We can all choose….I choose positive thoughts and that equals positive reinforcement!

Where have I been? I remember now-That thing called life!…living and jumping hurdles and knocking down walls! I wish somehow my mind would magically appear  in written form when I willed it to. How many nights and random bouts of day-dreaming have I had some word, lyric, or simple expression of me traversing my mind and stampeding at others through the never-ending thoughts of my imagination? Yet, I seem not to find recourse to put it to ink and paper or even the keyboard?? Hmmm…this too shall pass. I am still here…just wait.

There was, is, and comes a Time…

imagesThere was that time when you lived your life without cause or understanding-every moment was on a whim. You loved openly without regard to the fact that you could be hurt. You befriended anyone that was of similar nature and/or that could offer some sort of appeal to your very existence. You didn’t worry about financial status or gain. You didn’t look for the faults in any of your actions and any travesty that you met was surely by the acts of another. Life was simple in the little budding of life that began your journey.

Then there is that moment when you realize you can be hurt and you fall from the  love that once left you unbounded and blissful. You realize that people you so hastily accepted as your friend may be less of a benefit in your life and more of a burden. You finally grasp that monetary gain is necessary in some amount of effort to live in modern society comfortably and that some materialistic desires actually mean that you have to work for them and still work on a long term financial plan. You cross that moment when you realize that your own actions, choices, and reactions may actually be completely, irrevocably your own single-handed undoing for an unwanted outcome to any given situation. This is that moment when you realize that there is more to life, more to learn from, and the flower blooms.

Then there is the time to come when you realize that after loving and hurting, you can and will love again even with the same risk as before. You will reevaluate the friendships you have to weed out those that don’t promote your self-interests and share your like morals and standards;thus, you will seek to find those worthy of your trusted circle of friends. You realize that your hard work will ease your financial burdens with sound planning and moderate self-control even if you will not retire a millionaire (because at this point you understand true prosperity is more in life than the dollar). You will analyze your stance in life, both inner and outer, in order to adjust your thought processes to make better decisions and therefore reap the benefits of such choices as they impact you and those around you.

You…I…We all will continually evolve and grow as we travel in life’s journey. Your existence as is mine or anyone else’s is truly just an opportunity held within each of us …waiting for the lessons and experiences of living to take hold.images (3)
